Your parents lied to you
Kids: your parents lie. You cannot grow up to be whatever you want. The real world (and you) have limits. Pick something you desire to do bad enough to work for, because you deserve a challenge to be the best that you can be, BUT are physically and financially capable of meeting the requirements for. Be realistic.
Could you be President? Maybe, if you worked really hard. Could you be an astronaut? Not if you have bad eyesight, blood pressure, or are the wrong height. Stop setting our kids up with unrealistic expectations, the world will not hand them anything on a silver platter, because they grow up to be entitled, depressed hipsters.
